Café 220: Redefining “Casual Mediterranean” Since 2002. Open daily from 10:30 am to 12:00 midnight and beckoning with an authentic Middle Eastern/Mediterranean-esque dining vibe, Café 220 of Palo Alto goes far beyond what is often referred to as “Greek food.” Here, only the finest meats and freshest vegetables make their way from the farmer’s market to our grills, where they’re prepared in healthier oils such as the vegetable variants to unleash the authentic Turkish cooking flavors within. Whether your taste in Mediterranean cuisine is steeped in either traditional or modern culinary technique preference, nothing is off limits at Café 220.
Though many of our return diners rave about our dessert crepes and salads, Café 220 offers a myriad of Mediterranean treats, including more than a dozen different kinds of wraps, an almost overwhelming assortment of vegetarian dishes and incredibly flavorful entrees such as Salmon Shish Kabob.
And while it can be said that there are indeed many purveyors of Middle Eastern and Greek food not only in the immediate Palo Alto vicinity but out there in general, Café 220 remains a testament for value in these challenging economic times…not to mention that our Chicken Shawarmas are to die for!
Give our Arni Kokinisto – diced lamb with onion, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, garlic and tomato sauce baked in a clay pot – a try, or our version of Tzatziki, Lamb Kebab, Pita, Spanakopita and even Baklava. Our Falafel Wrap comes with a side of Eggplant Salad and Tabbouleh, and is loaded with deep fried garbanzo beans, baba ghanouj, hummus, tahini sauce and even French Fries for a unique twist on this classic Mediterranean morsel.
Good, honest food? Check. Bursting-with-flavor menu items? Check. An authentic atmosphere that will whisk you away from the shores of California to the sun-drenched coasts of the Mediterranean? Double-check. Here at Café 220, a Middle Eastern epicurean fantasy is just an order away.
